Palo Alto High Schools Featured @ Keeble & Shuchat

Student Art Work on Display in the Keeble and Shuchat Gallery

Keeble and Shuchat, in partnership with the Palo Alto Unified School District, is proud to present an exhibit of photographs by students at Gunn and Palo Alto High Schools.

Sharon Ferguson, the PAUSD Art Coordinator, tells us:

There are many kinds of successful students: academic achievers, gifted writers, perfect pitch singers, outstanding athletes, accomplished musicians, and stunning visual artists. In our Strategic Goals for 2015-2016, PAUSD made a commitment to reach out, identify, and honor the diversity of success that represents our incredible spectrum of accomplishment. This exhibit acknowledges the artistic success that is taking place in PAUSD’s educational arena and represents Art Education’s commitment to share our creative diversity. Photography students, who are powerfully committed to their art, created the work in this exhibit. They go significantly beyond assignments in the classroom and the results are amazing. They are technically accomplished, but also show an evolved perspective or intention. These students take pictures that make us feel, think, and want to know more about how they do their art and why it is so important to them. They have tapped into power of art to communicate ideas, feelings and connectedness. This is significant and meaningful accomplishment!

The show is open and available for view during business hours through May 10th, 2016. The school district will host an opening reception on April 23rd from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM for the artists and the public is invited to attend the reception and meet the photographers.

Saturday November 23, 2013 from 1:30 pm. to 4:30 pm.

at 290 S. California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94306

“We are delighted to host this reception and show for a group of photographers whose work is worthy of recognition. We also feel privileged to support their efforts and provide them with a range of first-rate, high-quality photographic equipment, supplies, and services.” -Terry Shuchat, owner and President of Keeble & Shuchat Photography.

The exhibit will feature a range of award-winning photographs from 25 participants in the Richard Dischler Pro-Visualization Workshops. Refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served. The exhibit will be on display through January 2014 and is open to the public daily, with many noteworthy offerings available for sale. In 2009, Dischler formed the first Pre-Visualization Workshop at Keeble & Shuchat Photography with less than a dozen photographers. Since then, the workshop has grown to more than 50 photographers. A number of the workshop members have received public recognition for their works in local, regional, national, and international juried and non-juried art and photography competitions exhibits, and publications.

Dischler stated, “We welcome not only photographers but collectors and all those who appreciate photographic arts to attend this event. I am extremely proud of the work from this group of photographers and how each continues to develop and evolve with their unique photographic vision. Seeing them grow in their craft is an inspiration to me as we begin to develop a creative and dynamic community of photographers. We also greatly appreciate the support provided by Terry Shuchat and the professional staff at Keeble & Shuchat Photography.”
